Shown Their Work: Dinosaurology makes absolutely sure not to have any of the adventurers name dinosaurs that were not discovered or named before 1907 (the year in which the book takes place). They don't always succeed though.

Meaningful Name: John Oro's last name is the Spanish and Italian word for "gold" — the same material he gets turned into at the end of Mythology. A fun look at different beasts from myth and legend. It’s like a field guide to select creatures with notes, diagrams, illustrations and even “skin samples”.

What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Played with in Monsterology. Sphinxes, cyclopes, fauns, centaurs and gorgons are listed as man-like beasts and mostly described as intelligent animals, despite sphinxes being noted as highly intelligent and capable of speech, cyclopes being credited with having built ancient Cretan ruins and fauns and centaurs both crafting and using complex tools. Giants and gnomes, by contrast, are noted to be as intelligent as humans and only given cursory descriptions, as the narrator says that a zoology book isn't the right place to talk about them. As well as phenomenal fiction, we also have children's books for all ages and interests. From learning to read, to bedtime stories, to books for older readers; the next book to steal your little one’s imagination and nurture their love of reading is just around the corner. Online at WHSmith you’ll find the classics that you know and love from your own childhood, such as Roald Dahl as well as fantastic new authors such as David Walliams, Jeff Kinney and Tom Fletcher.

This book reveals the study of those supposedly mythical beasts that inhabit our world, from manticores and unicorns to gryphons, centaurs and sea serpents. With an array of gems, booklets and interactive activity together with wonderful stories this is a gorgeous volume not to be missed. By the time you’ve swamped your mind with these wonderful creatures you will understand rather than fear them. Also available in the 'Ology' series are Dragonology, Pirateology, Wizardology, and Mythology. Always a Bigger Fish: Monsterology's chapter on aquatic creatures employs this in regard to sea monster food chains. Sea serpents prey on whales, krakens prey on both whales and sea serpents and leviathans happily eat whales, sea serpents and krakens alike. I just noticed this today in the Summer Update/Test Realm notes: “Removed several mobs from Monstrology to avoid confusion with only new Wizards on the FTUE being able to get them”. That might explain it.Toothy Bird: The phoenix. Justified because it's not a bird at all, but a dragon (although it's a toothless bird in Monsterology). Bakus, instead of devouring bad dreams and leaving the good ones, are described as simply having a catlike soothing effect on people when stroked.

A True Story in My Universe: Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World is implied to be loosely inspired by Percy Fawcett's expedition to Yannapalu and discovery of living dinosaurs. Played straight in Oceanology, where the events of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea are based on the actual voyage of the Nautilus, relayed to Jules Verne by the Sole Survivor Zoticus de Lesseps. Condition: Acceptable. Various (illustrator). Item in acceptable condition! Textbooks may not include supplemental items i.e. CDs, access codes etc. Shout-Out: The main plot of Illusionology (via booklets) is that of a teleporting device wan to be used by an illusionist. Where have we heard that before? In 2008, Universal Studios acquired the film rights to the Dragonology series, with Leonard Hartman set to write and executive produce the adaptation. [5] In August 2012, it was reported that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci would produce the film for Universal. [6]I believe it spawns when 3 or more wizards are present in either the very first dungeon in Karamelle City or the one in Gummy Plant. I list them exactly like they are listed in the game. Felix was added with the WC Catacombs update which is why they probably added him here.

What about the Root Guardian found at the Alter Chamber Inside Bartably During the Quest that gives the Bartably Scion BadgePegasus: Winged horses are native to the eastern Mediterranean, can be used as steeds and are a favorite food of griffins. Our Mermaids Are Different: Monsterology has a pretty traditional take on Merfolk, except that they mean no harm to the people they charm with their song. They simply don't realize that humans are unable to breathe underwater. Conversely, they can't breathe air for long and Ernest Drake muses that an "overwater suit" could be designed to allow them to travel on land.
